When it comes to building a sustainable closet, collecting and curating capsule clothing can help you choose better; style with ease on days you don’t even feel like it; while also helping you feel good in the outfits you’re wearing every time you put them on.

And so, in recent years, with each collection, we’ve introduced curated capsules that act as a guide of styles that support you through your journeys.

We often group our pieces by the nature of the journey you may be on — such as,  styles for your everyday comfort, styles best for travelling, and so on. We also like to group them by craft or textile so you can easily discover a range of styles in our favourite conscious fabrics.

This season, we’d like to introduce our sustainable winter clothing and new Edit, Shore, through our new capsules, and hopefully, help you find the perfect outfit to add to your winter capsule wardrobe.

CAPSULES

To create a winter capsule wardrobe, we have to consider the different kinds of essentials pieces you may need. For winter women wear you should have pieces made for more casual everyday moments; more formal but comfortable pieces appropriate for places like the office; party looks and winter festive dresses for holiday moments; separates you can layer if you live in colder climates; and all these pieces should also be timeless so you can style them for any season.

Many of our styles can easily go from day to night, work to play, with just a few accessory or styling changes, and these distinctions are just a guide in case you’re unsure of what you’re looking for.

The Classic Capsule

These are what we class our everyday timeless pieces, made for any and all of life’s journey, and are the key essentials in a winter capsule wardrobe  – comfy, practical, and classic.

These pieces are also all crafted in our favourite everyday fabric that looks effortlessly elegant and flows with ease all day: organic cotton. Our organic cotton, provided by Herbal Fab, is GOTS certified and is created without the use of pesticides or insecticides, making it super safe to work with and wear and preventing chemical pollution to be created.

We’ve loved designing with this fabric since our start in 2018 because of these green benefits and how breathable, versatile and comfortable it is – we now work with several variations of it including double gauze, twill and poplin. It creates fuss-free styles you can move in through very busy days or comfortably lounge in if you’re taking it easy.

These are The Classic Capsule styles:

The Soft Power Capsule

This capsule captures our Shore collection story beautifully, embodying the idea of bold confidence that’s gentle through soft, flowy silhouettes with a classic, powerful heart – elegant, bold, and chic.

These styles are crafted in organic cotton, like mentioned above, but also includes handwoven organic cotton sourced from NGO WomenWeave (who we’ve been working with since 2018) and Kala cotton, sourced from Karghewale and Khamir Crafts, which is a native cotton strain that is rain-fed and thrives in harsh environments.

You’ll also find silhouettes crafted in 100% linen in this capsule, a natural fabric created from flax plant fibres, that makes beautiful sustainable winter clothing because of how soft and breathable – perfect to layer with.

The Arrival Capsule

This capsule is all about moving with ease while also being dressed in classic, comfortable silhouettes – breathable, versatile, and dynamic

All these pieces are super light separates crafted in double gauze organic cotton and linen – the perfect fabrics you can travel, run errands, and adventure in. Our double gauze pieces are especially soft winter women wear that you can mix and match and layer endlessly if you want to feel cozier.

The Craft Capsule

Each piece in this capsule is an ode to traditional crafts, and their legacy in contemporary silhouettes.

One style, our Bold Heart classic shirt, is upcycled, meaning crafted from our excess fabric stock from a past collection – by using this fabric and not producing a new one, we are able to lower our fabric waste and carbon emissions. The fabric was also dyed using vegetal and mineral derived dye powders, an ancient practice, that’s better for your skin and the environment.

The rest of the styles are made in our handwoven ikat fabric – the term ikat, or ikkat, is an ancient dyeing craft that comes from the Malay-Indonesian word “mengikat”, meaning “to tie”, which describes how this fabric is resist-dyed in specific patterns before they are woven on the loom. When woven, these dyed threads align to form motifs.

The Denim Capsule

In this day and age, denim is an in everyone’s wardrobes, so we see it as essential capsule clothing. These classic styles are all crafted in this versatile fabric – and ours is sustainable!

We first introduced our sustainable denim last summer, and it has since become a bestseller and community favourite. It’s comfortable, longlasting, versatile, breathable, and more so, ours is super lightweight so it flows easily with you wherever you go.

A conscious bonus: to create our blue hue, we use Dystar Indigo, a dyeing process that’s more sustainable, efficient, stable, and safe for workers.

The Holiday Wild Capsule

This capsule is designed for all your holiday moments, it includes the perfect winter festive dresses and timeless separates you can take to holiday parties, dinner dates, family gatherings and more – timeless, graceful, and striking.

The styles are crafted in a wide range of conscious fabrics so you can choose your favourite standout look, from sustainable denim and organic cotton to handwoven ikkat. We’re also bringing back our Tencel fabric - it’s created from wood cellulose fibres in sustainable plantations, and has a beautiful satiny smooth texture that elevates any look.

And we’re also introducing a new fabric to our catalogue with these looks: organic cotton corduroy!
